Adult Writers Group

The Adult Writers Group meets on the second Sunday of the month at 2pm, and it’s open to anyone who wants to improve their writing skills in a positive environment. No previous writing experience necessary!

We’ll have writing prompts and discussion to get you going, and feel free to bring in something you’re working on to workshop with the group.

The Klamath Basin Genealogical Society DNA Interest Group, which focuses on using DNA data in genealogy research, meets at the downtown Klamath County Library on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 pm.

The full Society meets on the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm.

The general public is always welcome to join in.

Real Reads Book Group: Empire of Pain (Part 1)

Read books about real issues! The Real Reads Book Group tackles a variety of current social issues – race, gender, immigration, poverty, criminal justice, and more – with nonfiction and memoir titles. We meet on the first Saturday of the month at 3pm at the downtown Klamath County Library.

The group will be discussing the first 10 chapters of Empire of Pain: The Secret History of the Sackler Family by Patrick Radden Keefe on Saturday, February 1st at 3pm

South - Get the Most Out of Your Shrubs!

Attractive shrubbery can form the backbone of your landscaping! Learn how to maximize the growth and health of your shrubs at the South Suburban Branch Library on Tuesday, January 28th at 11am.

John Bellon, the Urban Forester for the City of Klamath Falls, will walk you through optimal maintenance of various shrub species. (Sometimes, doing nothing is the best upkeep decision!)

While this event is hosted by the Northside Garden Club, you don’t have to be a member to attend.

Adult Intro Crochet Class

Want to learn how to crochet, but don’t want to muddle through it on your own? Join us for a free series of crochet workshops at the downtown library starting January 9th at 6 pm!

The four-week series (onJanuary 9th, January 23rd, February 6th and February 20th at 6 pm) will walk you through beginning crochet steps, building up to creating a “Granny Square” block. These quilt-like squares sew together into blankets, clothing and more – setting you up for a wide variety of projects!
