Minecraft Fort Contest for Kids and Teens

United States

to

The downtown Klamath County Library is holding a Minecraft build contest for kids and teens in November!

We want to see your coolest, most tricked-out secret forts. (Thoughtful décor? Awesome! Devious traps? Rad!) We’ll be judging entries in three age categories: Ages 5 to 8, Ages 9 to 12, and Ages 13-18. Winners in each category will win a $20 gift card to a local gaming shop.

Entries are due by midnight on Tuesday, November 30th, emailed to khart@klamathlibrary.org. Please use “Minecraft Contest” as the subject line of your email, and include your name, age, and the coordinates on the library’s Minecraft server where your secret fort can be found. (If there’s a feature you want to be sure we notice, you can optionally include screenshots of your fort in your email, but you must still include the location so we can poke around ourselves.)

For access to the Minecraft server, play Minecraft on the public computers at the downtown Klamath County Library or request server details to play at home via the form at klamathlibrary.org/teencontests (starting Monday, November 1st).

The rules and fine print:

  • Participants must be 5 – 18 years old to enter.
  • Limit 1 fort per person.
  • Entries must be received by midnight on Tuesday, November 30th. Winners will be announced in the second week of December via email, on the Teen Contest webpage at klamathlibrary.org/teencontests and on the library’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/KlamathCountyLibrary.
  • Your submitted fort must be your original work – no taking designs from the internet or using mods.
  • Entries must be built on the Klamath County Library Minecraft server. For access to the Minecraft server, play Minecraft on the public computers at the downtown Klamath County Library or request server details via the form at klamathlibrary.org/teencontests starting Monday, November 1st.
  • Judges reserve the right to disqualify any work deemed inappropriate or that possess culturally inaccurate and/or negatively stereotypical depictions.
  • No “griefing” or otherwise malicious interference with or destruction of your competitors’ forts.

For more information, call 541-882-8894 or visit the downtown library’s Youth Services desk. You can find complete contest rules, as well as the winners of previous contests, at klamathlibrary.org/teencontests.
