Gardening Trivia Competition: Warm Season Veggies

United States

Spring has got gardeners’ green thumbs itching to get started! Think you know the most in town about growing your own veggies? Show off your gardening trivia skills this month in online competitions through the Klamath County Library and the Oregon State University Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center!

Nicole Sanchez – an assistant professor in horticulture at the extension center and a favorite recurring guest speaker at the library – will test your knowledge Thursday, April 15th at 7pm on Cool Season Veggies trivia, and on Thursday, April 29th at 7pm about Warm Season Veggies.

We’ll be giving away prizes for the top three participants each night, including some seedlings to get your 2021 garden started!

To register, head to klamathlibrary.org/trivia or email Denae Nemanic at dnemanic@klamathlibrary.org. (You can compete as an individual, or pool your knowledge as a family team.) We’ll be hosting the game on Slido, which you can use on a home computer at www.sli.do, or by using the Slido app on a tablet or smart phone via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store. (Don’t worry if you’re unfamiliar with Slido – Denae can walk you through it. Stop by the downtown library’s Information & Reference desk, email the above address or call 541-882-8894 ext. 22 for installation help.)

A great place to start studying is Nicole Sanchez’s weekly gardening column in the Herald & News! You can find an online archive at the OSU Klamath Basin Research and Extension Center’s website: extension.oregonstate.edu/newsletter/130026/archive.
