Due to a staffing emergency, we've had to postpone our tutorial workshop series for the 3D printer. We're very sorry for the inconvenience. Keep an eye on klamathlibrary.org/calendar for a rescheduled date.
Come learn how to create things on the downtown Klamath County Library’s new 3D printer! Join us Tuesday, May 24th and Tuesday, June 28th at 6 pm for a two-part introduction to turning plastic filament into fidget toys, sculptures, spare parts and more!
- Tuesday, May 24th at 6 pm: 3D Printing 101! Learn the basics of 3D printing and the ins and outs of the library’s Lulzbot Mini 3D printer! We will talk about the fundamental principles of 3D printing, how to operate the printer itself, how to use 3D printing software to make your perfect print, where to find 3D models you can print yourself, and how to submit files to the library for printing!
- Tuesday, June 28th at 6 pm: 3D Design 101! Want to go beyond the templates and create something all your own? We will introduce you to Tinkercad, a free-to-use online designing platform. We will walk through a tutorial on how to design in Tinkercad and show you useful tips and tricks in 3D modeling!
Attendees to both sessions will have an opportunity to make their very own print, free of charge! (After that, 3D printing things at the library will incur a small fee – 15 cents per gram of filament used in the project. More details coming soon!)
Space is limited; preregistration required! To register or for more information, please call 541-882-8894, stop by the downtown library’s Information & Reference desk or email Canelle at cirmas@klamathlibrary.org.
