The foreign policy discussion group Great Decisions is back at the Klamath County Library – and this year we have two meeting times to better fit your schedule!
We’ll meet for eight weeks: weekdays on Thursdays from 1 pm to 3 pm starting January 23rd; and weekends on Saturdays from 1 pm to 3 pm starting January 25th. (You’ll chose whether you want to be in the Thursday group or the Saturday group when you register.)
Each participant in Great Decisions must purchase a copy of the 2025 essay book, offered at the price of $35, at the downtown library’s Information & Reference desk. Great Decisions is open to any interested adult regardless of political or any other affiliations.
Topics for this year’s cycle include: American foreign policy concerns for the new Trump administration; changes in leadership of the world economy; US/China relations; international cooperation on climate change; the future of NATO and European security; artificial intelligence and national security; India’s growing role as a world power and American policy in the Middle East, especially in Gaza.
The Great Decisions format asks participants to read the weekly articles from the Great Decisions book and then discuss the topic at the library. Group members may take turns leading the sessions and may also contribute additional research information if they wish.
Space is limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis as participants pay for the required textbook. The deadline for reserving your spot is Monday, January 13th. For more information, please call Ben Luff at 541-882-8894 ext. 32, or email bluff@klamathlibrary.org.
