Foreign Film Night: Wife of a Spy

United States

A Hitchcockian thriller from Japan will screen at the downtown Klamath County on Tuesday, February 8th at 5:30 pm!

Wife of a Spy takes us to Japan on the cusp of World War II, following big-hearted housewife Satoko and her husband Yusaku, a prosperous merchant and amateur filmmaker. When Yusaku comes home from a business trip to Japanese-occupied Manchuria with a beautiful young woman, Satoko is shocked and confused. But Yusaku brought a much bigger problem home with him: evidence that the Japanese government is committing horrific experiments on civilians in Manchuria. Will Yusaku sell out his country (and the life he’s built with Satoko) to bring these atrocities to light? Will Satoko help him, or will she turn her husband in to the military policeman – who, to make things even stickier, has had a crush on Satoko since they were children? Satoko’s quiet life has ratcheted up into the high stakes of “history,” and things may never be normal again…

Wife of a Spy is unrated, in Japanese with English subtitles, and runs for 1 hour, 55 minutes.
