A veteran rose farmer seeks to keep her family business afloat in the face of competition from soulless industrial flower farming in the lighthearted French comedy The Rose Maker, screening at the downtown Klamath County Library on Tuesday, June 14th at 5:30 pm.
The Rose Maker follows Eve Vernet as she develops spectacular, multicolored roses with pride, refusing to sell her family farm to a flashy corporation that care more about profits than heritage blooms, even as the farm loses money. Instead, she develops a daring plan to make a big splash in the rose industry: steal the competition’s prize rose variety and incorporate it into a rose hybrid that’s sure to win the next prestigious rose-growing competition…
