Foreign Film Night: Collective

United States

Foreign Film Night is back at the downtown Klamath County Library! We’re screening the Oscar-nominated Romanian documentary Collective on Tuesday, September 14th at 5:30 pm!

Collective follows Romanian investigative journalists as they uncover the public healthcare corruption scandal stemming from a deadly fire at the Colectiv nightclub in Bucharest in October 2015. The fire itself killed 27 – but in the ensuing months another 37 died of their injuries due to a lack of proper healthcare at public hospitals, including the use of a disinfectant that was diluted to the point of uselessness. The journalists push further and discover that corruption in Romania’s healthcare system is much more widespread than the mismanagement of the Colectiv nightclub fire…

Collective is unrated, in Romanian with English subtitles, and runs for 1 hour, 49 minutes.
