If you’re an independent author, navigating the issues of editing your work and copyrighting it can be intimidating! Local author Larry Powers is visiting the downtown Klamath County Library on Wednesday, Sept. 20th at 2 pm to show you how to take your work from rough manuscript to a polished draft that’s ready to publish.
Powers will describe best practices to avoid common pitfalls regarding self-editing, having a professional editor review your work, and issues with quoting or otherwise using others’ material in your work. (Note: Powers is not a legal professional, and his presentation should not be taken as legal advice.)
A retired academic dean and natural sciences professor at Oregon Tech, Powers has written and published eight books since 2019 under the pen name L. Wade Powers. You can find more about him and his work at www.lwadepowers.com.
The presentation will be followed by a brief business meeting of the Friends.
The presentation is free to the public.
