The White Tiger follows Balram Halwai, a brilliant young man in India who’s determined to claw his way out of poverty. He achieved much in school, but was forced to abandon his studies by his family’s debts to “the Stork,” his village’s wealthy landlord. Balram finagles his way into working for the Stork as a chauffeur, but quickly learns he is expendable as far as the Stork’s rich family is concerned. Balram realizes that working for the Stork is not a stable path to a comfortable life, and starts working on a scheme of his own…

The film is rated R for language, violence, and some sexual content. It’s in Hindi and English with subtitles, and runs for 2 hours, 5 minutes.
