Ganong will discuss his expeditions to crags, mountains and volcanoes both near – Gearhart, McLoughlin, Shasta – and far (as far as South America!). He’ll go through the what, where, and how of high-altitude climbing – including the specialized equipment, techniques and challenges that make this sport both dangerous and exhilarating.
Join us on Thursday, June 27th at 5:30 pm for the latest in the Klamath County Library’s Documentary & Discussion film series: Cutdown: Infant Surgery Without Anesthesia, a short documentary featuring local author Wendy Patrice Williams.
Join us on the last Tuesday of the month for crafts made with antique techniques!
Update your summer wardrobe with a literally “classic” garment: the Ancient Greek chiton! This tunic was worn by both men and women in antiquity. We’ll provide the sewing machines, thread and such – just bring a large rectangle of lightweight fabric. (A sari or a twin-size bedsheet is enough fabric for most folks.)
This event is for crafters of all ages.
We’re transforming teacups into whimsical homes for fairies! We’ll provide lots of materials, but feel free to bring any sparkly bits and bobs from home to customize your fairy garden however you want! [If you have any spare teacups lying around, we’ll take them! Drop them off at the Youth Services desk.] Space is limited for this event so registration is required. Sign up today at forms.gle/zrYaL4u9fjEE29Ri7.
Read books and win prizes! For more information on our Summer Reading Challenge and special events, head to KlamathLibrary.org/SRP.
Enjoy some Summer Scares at the library! We kick off a season of creepy, scary and downright unsettling films on Tuesday, June 11th at 5:30 pm with a cult classic: 1973’s The Wicker Man.
Join us at the downtown Klamath County Library for a screening of the Japanese drama Plan 75 on Thursday, June 13th at 5:30pm!
In a dystopian future Japan, the government has a solution to deal with its aging population: the option of free euthanasia for citizens 75 and over. Plan 75 follows three ordinary citizens as they confront the callous indifference of a world ready to dispose of an entire generation that has been deemed no longer valuable…
Add to your houseplant collection by propagating – that is, turning a cutting into a whole new plant! Exchange cuttings with fellow indoor gardening enthusiasts and take them home in jars we’ll provide.
This event is a rescheduling of May's Lay Person Legal event.
On Tuesday, June 18th at 6 pm, the downtown Klamath County Library will host the latest in the “Lay Person Legal” seminar series: a guide to your rights as a renter – or your responsibilities as a landlord – in Oregon.
Attendees will get a better appreciation of how the legal system works, particularly if they are attempting to navigate the courts without a lawyer.
