Memoir Book Club: Lab Girl

The Memoir Book Club meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6pm to discuss a variety of perspectives on the human condition: tales of humor, tragedy, persecution and triumph. You can pick up a copy of the current title at the Reference and Information Desk.

The Memoir Book Club is currently meeting online via Zoom. To register, email Charla at coppenlander@klamathlibrary.org.

We'll be discussing Lab Girl by Hope Jahren on Tuesday, April 6th at 6pm.

Filmmaking in the Klamath Basin

There’s a bright future for the Klamath Basin as the scenic backdrop for feature films, says Klamath Film Executive Director Kurt Liedtke. Most recently, Klamath Falls served as the setting for the 2019 independent comedy Phoenix, Oregon – which, through an odd strike of luck, became the #1 box office release in America in March 2020. Discuss the history and future of filmmaking in our area in an online conversation on Wednesday, March 17th at 2pm.

Oregon Month Project Kits

February is Oregon Month! Oregon became a state on February 14th, 1859, and we’re celebrating the natural and cultural history of our state with a variety of themed kits! Pick up a new kit each week at the Youth Services desk. For ages 5-12.

(And by popular demand, these craft kits will now be available at the Bonanza, Chemult, Chiloquin, Malin, Merrill and South Suburban branch libraries, while supplies last.)
