Read books about real issues! The Real Reads Book Group tackles a variety of current social issues – race, gender, immigration, poverty, criminal justice, and more – with nonfiction and memoir titles. We meet on the first Saturday of the month at 3pm at the downtown Klamath County Library.
The group will be discussing Autocracy, Inc.: The Dictators Who Want to Rule the World, by Anne Applebaum on Saturday, September 6th at 3pm.
"Whale Lady" Taylor-Rose Stone has been studying Humpback Whales for 7 years. She has been featured in the Herald and News and Southern Oregon Magazine, and is the author of Whales in the Air: A Look at Humpback Whale Courtship. She will give a presentation and show a short documentary on these fascinating creatures and their courtship behaviors.

Emma Byrd Harding -- a certified pediatric sleep consultant who knows what it's like to be a sleep-deprived new mom -- will give you strategies to help you and your child rest, whether they're a newborn in a crib or a toddler with a big-kid bed (who's sometimes stubborn about bedtime). Harding operates her company, Baby Byrd Sleep Consulting, in Klamath Falls.

UPDATE! The library was given a generous donation of lavender flowers! Because of this, we are changing our adult craft to be lavender wands. To make sure the flowers and stems are in great shape, we will be bringing this event forward. Join us Wednesday, August 13th at 6pm. No registration is necessary.
The Mystery Readers Book Group is the perfect book club if you love a good mystery! The group will be reading a wide range of mysteries – from cozy whodunits to fast-paced thrillers to true crime. We meet on the third Thursday of the month at 4pm at the downtown Klamath County Library.
We'll be discussing Murder with Macaroni and Cheese by A.L. Herbert on Thursday, August 21st at 4pm.
The Klamath Basin Genealogical Society meets at the downtown Klamath County Library on the second Thursday of each month at 6 pm. (The Society also has a sub-group, focused on using DNA data in genealogy research, which meets on the first Wednesday of the month at 1 pm.)
The general public is always welcome to join in at both meetings.
