Spotting Butterflies While Birding [Plus Friends of the Library Board Election & Quarterly Meeting]

United States

Join us at the downtown Klamath County Library on Sunday, June 14th at 2pm for a look at the butterflies of the Klamath Basin!

The presentation will also be livestreamed via Zoom. If you'd like the streaming link, please email folklamath@gmail.com.

Birding and nature photography enthusiast Wes Stone will show you his favorite hotspots for butterflying spots, highlight some of the species you can encounter, and offer photography tips. (When he's not chasing butterflies or running the Ukulele Club, Wes is also our Supervising Librarian for Branch Services.)

This presentation is brought to you by the Friends of the Klamath County Library, who will have their quarterly business meeting after Wes is finished. You don't have to be a member of the Friends to attend.

The June meeting of the Friends is a particularly important one, as the organization will be electing their Board of Directors for the next fiscal year. Current nominees are:

  • Jacek Berka
  • Gail Brock
  • Linda Deacon
  • Elaine Deutschman
  • Judith Izzo
  • Ardath McDermott
  • Fran McDermott
  • Betty Shaw
  • Lindsay Silver

If you're feeling moved, you can also nominate yourself or another person at the meeting itself.
