A private detective investigates possible abuse at a retirement home by hiring an old man as an undercover spy in the Chilean documentary The Mole Agent, screening on Thursday, November 14th at 5:30 pm.
Romulo Aitken is a private investigator looking into a nursing home in El Monte, Chile, where his client suspects her mother is being abused by her caretakers. He hires 83-year-old Sergio Chamy, who gets a crash course in spycraft in order to go undercover as a new resident of the nursing home and get evidence for Aitken’s client. (If the plot sounds familiar, it’s because an Americanized miniseries based on this documentary is coming out soon on Netflix starring Ted Danson as Chamy’s equivalent.)
