Join us at the downtown Klamath County Library for a screening of the Indian satirical biopic Aatmapamphlet (Autobio-Pamplet in English) on Thursday, August 8th at 5:30pm!
Autobio-Pamphlet is a coming-of-age story following a fictionalized version of director Ashish Avinash Bende as a boy in India in the 1990s. Young Ashish is a Dalit, a member of the lowest caste in traditional Hindu caste hierarchy – the group sometimes pejoratively called “Untouchables.” Ashish plays with his friends and pines for a childhood crush, typical boy stuff – while his nation is rocked with a major economic crisis. Can Ashish’s friendships survive the disunity of a major sociopolitical shift…?
Autobio-Pamphlet is unrated, in Marathi with subtitles, and runs for 1 hour, 30 minutes.
