Join us for a special screening of the sci-fi dystopian film Fahrenheit 451 on Thursday, October 9th at 5:30 pm!
Based on the novel of the same name by Ray Bradbury, Fahrenheit 451 follows Guy Montag, a fireman. Except, in Guy's world, firemen don't fight fires... they start them, specifically to torch forbidden books (and the houses where they're hidden). He gradually becomes disillusioned with his career in censorship enforcement, though, and starts to hoard a few books himself...
The film is unrated and runs for 1 hour, 52 minutes.
Decide for yourself whether the book is better than the movie! This month, we're also hosting a Banned Book Club discussion of Bradbury's novel on Friday, October 24th at 3 pm. You can pick up a copy of the book at the downtown library's Information & Reference desk.
