Our The Aging Journey seminar series continues!

Staff from Klamath Basin Behavioral Health (KBBH) are giving presentations on a variety of topics of interest to older folks Thursdays at 10 am at the downtown Klamath County Library.

Each presentation can be attended as a stand-alone; stop by for the topics that interest you!

Join us for:

  • Thursday, April 2nd: Physical Needs As We Age. Handrails, mobility aids, and other equipment help you stay independent as you get older.
  • Thursday, April 9th: Hearing Loss. Learn what to do when you don't notice sounds that you used to.
  • Thursday, April 16th: Question, Persuade, Refer. If you or a loved one struggle with thoughts of suicide, arm yourself with strategies to deflect the urge.
  • Thursday, April 23rd: Addictions and the Older Adult. Big changes in your life, like the death of a spouse or moving to an assisted living facility, can trigger addictive behavior.
  • Thursday, April 30th: Medications and the Changes We Need to Know. As you get older, you tend to collect more and more prescription medications to treat ongoing issues. Take charge of your health!

KBBH Behavioral Health Specialists, Patricia "Patty" Card, and Kelli Bowers will show you how you and your family can prepare for challenges and celebrate triumphs as you age. Card has worked at KBBH for more than 35 years. Bowers has worked in the field of human services and social work since 1984 in Utah and Oregon. Both currently specialize in the mental health needs of older adults.
